Sri Lanka postal code which is also called as Zip code in many developed countries is good for those who used to send postal mails and packages to Sri Lanka. Find the district code names and district postal codes (Zip) that are provided by the Department of Post, Sri Lanka (Sri Lanka Post). These codes will help the postman to deliver the parcels and postal mails if you use them in the address section of the receiver. If you are in suspicion about the code that should be used on the receiver’s envelop, contact your nearest post office to verify it. Take note postal code is the name that is equivalent to the American postal service's Zip code. So both the postal code and the Zip code are the same one. This code is not a telephone code for that area. Phone codes and IDD codes are far different from this postal code in any country. Currently corporate websites used to ask for your .postal code or ZIP code to serve you content and their product prices related to your area.
Sri Lanka International Phone Code: +94 or 0094.
Colombo city alone is marked with 15 area codes. These codes will help you to locate Business and Departments easily. Save these codes as they won't be changed in the near future. Actually the ZIP code method was invented by Mr. Robert Moon in 1944 as he was working as a postal inspector in Philadelphia, USA.
