Sri Lanka Visa Going to Expire?

Sri Lanka visa is going to expire while you are staying here?
you must renew the visa before it expires. It is an offence according to Sri Lanka law to stay with expired visa. You should leave the country before the visa expires or should renew it by contacting the Immigration Department in Colombo. Or can contact an appointed visa renewal agent to complete the process. If your Sri Lanka visa is going to expire in due time, call the Immigration Department, in Colombo and get advice on how to renew it before it expires. Also they will guide you on how to get a local visa agent to assist you in renewing your visa. If happened so, you may be arrested and will be produced in front of local courts and legal action will be taken. In addition don't participate in any of the political protest as it too may lead to prosecute you for violating your visa condition.

Also the violators may be held at the detention centre according to the law.
Sometime you may have to pay fines too for your carelessness.
If you happened to overstay without a valid Sri Lanka visa, your country local embassy too can't help you against the country law.

What you will be required to renew your visa?

You must provide perfect reason to extent your Sri Lanka visa.
It is necessary to pay for the visa renewal fee.
Provide Two color photo of yourself.
Use the proper visa renewal form and it should be filled completely.

Immigration Department, Colombo, Sri Lanka is located near to the Arpico Super Centre, in Battaramulla.
Use the public Transport Service bus to reach there.
Taxi and Auto (Tuk Tuk) can be hired to take you there. Tell the driver to take you to Battaramulla Passport office.
You have to reach the upper floor to renew your Sri Lanka Visa.
Don't worry about the ground floor crowed, as they are looking for new local passports.

As per Sri Lanka Government's advice
"A visitor wishing to stay more than 30 days in Sri Lanka, may apply for an extension. The short term visit visa may be extended maximum up to 270 days from the the date of arrival in three consecutive instances as grant 30 days on entry , 60 days at first extension and 90 days for second and third instances."
