April Festival 2024: Annual Fun and Fair will start in the first week of April, 2024.

2024 Nuwara Eliya Spring Festival will start on 01st of April (Wasantha Udanaya).. This will go ahead throughout this April (till 30th April 2024, with many fun filled events for the general public. There will be many events including Golfing Events, horse racing, floral exhibitions and open air entertainment programs. The organizers - Nuwera Eliya Municipal Council - say that these events will attract local and foreign tourists. Make your room reservation early as there used to be nmo rooms available around April. Bands from Schools, Army, Navy and Airforce will perform here. Primary events such as car, Motorcycle, Horse and Boat races will take place here. Other than this Carnival and Music Shows too will take place.

Nuwara Eliya is the popular hill station in Sri Lanka, where most of the local rich families and tourists take vacation during the hot summer season. Around April most of the low lying lands in Sri Lanka use to experience dry and hot weather. At this time a festival used to take place for days and lot of people used to participate in this event. Some of the events used to take in the lake while other events used to take place in the town's grounds and large parades used to take place in the streets. Other attractions in this area are Golf club, parks, waterfalls, mountains, tea estates and factories, temples, churches and Colonial era buildings of the British. Many visitors call this place as little England, as its temperature, weather and typical English style houses and bungalows reminds them like being in an English village.
